Where have our mule deer gone? While there always seems to be a good buck harvested here and there throughout the west today, the general consensus seems to be the same; our mule deer are in trouble. Some of us have turned to hunting elk and are excited about the increasing elk numbers, while others have been riding out the storm in hopes of the deer someday returning to their numbers of the past.

South Dakota Mtn. Lion Season Opens Jan 1 12/29/08
The 2009 mountain lion hunting season will begin on January 1st. The season will have two major changes, including licensed landowners being able to harvest lions on their own land outside the Black Hills Fire Protection District year round with the 2009 Mountain Lion license. [Comments?]

Louisiana Deer Hunt Success for 10 Year Old 10 year old Mallory Jennings of Louisiana killed her 1st deer on a 2008 Thanksgiving hunting trip in Winnfield, Louisiana. The 7 point weighed in at 165 pounds and had a 22 1/4 inch tip spread. She used a 7mm 08, youth model rifle and was accompanied by her dad, Brent Jennings.
